Your Questions, Answered

  • Great question — and you’re not alone in wondering this.

As your doula, I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, and shortly after birth. I don’t replace your medical provider, and I don’t make decisions for you — I support you as you make informed choices that feel right for your family.

Think of me as your calm, steady presence — there to remind you to breathe, answer questions, support your partner, and help you feel grounded during birth.

  • Not at all.

I support all types of births — medicated, unmedicated, planned inductions, hospital births, and more. My role isn’t to push an agenda; it’s to support your preferences and help you feel confident no matter how your birth unfolds.

There’s no “right” way to give birth — only the way that’s right for you.

  • Never.

I support you and your partner as a team. I help guide, encourage, and reassure your partner so they can be fully present without feeling overwhelmed or unsure of what to do.

You won’t be choosing between your partner and a doula — you’ll have both.

  • Most families book between the second and early third trimester, but availability can vary. If you’re interested, I recommend reaching out as soon as you feel ready so we can connect and see if we’re a good fit.

  • That’s okay — and honestly, it matters.

Birth is personal, and feeling comfortable with your doula is important. Our initial meeting is a chance to ask questions, get to know each other, and decide together if we’re a good match — before you make any commitment.

  • While I do not bill insurance directly, many families are able to use FSA or HSA funds for doula services. I’m happy to provide an itemized receipt for possible reimbursement if needed. Coverage varies by plan, so I encourage clients to check with their provider.
